Specialty + Approach

In my counseling practice I emphasize having a trusting, safe, and honest relationship with my clients and client families. Through our working relationship, together we can identify issues, learn to understand them, and find workable solutions. Each individual situation is unique and therefore benefits from a unique approach. My own life experiences as a dentist and business owner, son, father, husband, brother, and friend contribute to my belief that good relationships are the core of good therapy.

I enjoy working with families, couples, adults, and adolescents helping them with mood disorders like depression and anxiety, relationship issues, parenting and family issues, difficult life transitions, trauma experiences, and behavior problems.

Using a variety of methods I work to understand clients to help them understand themselves; their thoughts, feelings, and choices. Together we can develop ways to change and improve areas of their lives that they want to be different and healthier.

Further, as someone trained heavily in the biological sciences, I am very interested in how our brains and bodies work and how we can use that knowledge to benefit our own mental and physical health. I am constantly trying to balance and incorporate the latest techniques in neuroscience, cognitive and behavioral approaches, trauma work, body work, mindfulness, and traditional therapies.
